From what I have heard from you lately, you dudes clearly care about what you put in your body and you are HUNGRY for more.
One key takeaway to learn: the popular foods available are mostly poison, and mainstream nutritional recommendations are deficient at best.
Just look at the food pyramid they recommend. If you want to start making improvements quickly, I recommend checking out the TRAD diet system.
Anyways,
After spending years trying to understand nutrition, some things have stuck out more than others. Here are the best pieces of nutritional advice I have ever seen.
Lee Labrada — how to build your meals
This video is an effing masterclass on how to eat. I’ve been playing it in my brain on repeat since I saw it about a year ago. It’s incredibly insightful and deep, yet ridiculously simple. All in 90 seconds.
Before you are too quick to judge about steroids — GTFO. Steroids don’t make you super lean and buff with excellent body composition. This takes smarts, dedication, and ridiculous discipline, especially at his age.
Lee is older than my dad and walks around in bodybuilding competition shape, still to this day. When he was younger, Lee placed top 4 in 7 consecutive Mr Olympias. One of the only people to ever do that. His son Hunter placed 4th in the Mr Olympia last year.
One of my best friends here in San Francisco is a 55 year old bodybuilder, and he is personally in touch with many of the greats from the classic era of bodybuilding and their network. They often highlight sarcopenia — which is the loss of muscle mass with age. I assumed that impacts us all, regardless of lifestyle or discipline. Apparently not for Lee.
My point is Lee knows what he’s doing.
Alex Hormozi — understanding macros and prioritizing protein
I always thought Alex was just a lifter bro doing extreme stuff for the Likes. Turns out I was totally wrong, and it seems he is one of the most successful marketers of our generation. I read his book and I can’t recommend it enough, this dude is legit.
In this video he breaks down his approach to macros and protein. Just like Lee, it’s insightful and deep, but simple and actionable. One of his strengths in his book is frameworks and principles, and you can see that in the video. This is a super intelligent perspective.
If nothing is more valuable than your health, then this is one of the most valuable videos on YouTube.
I love these quotes
I eat ice cream every day… yep. Every day.
If you’re going do to this, you have to do it in a way that you’d be able to do it forever… Who cares about being in shape for 8 weeks when I want to be in shape for the rest of my life… Wouldn’t it be nice to just solve it for good?
The reason why this is so cool is because you can’t fall off… There is no diet. You can eat whatever the hell you want.
No one is immune to a calorie deficit.

Dr Paul Saladino aka Carnivore MD — food is not entertainment
Do you eat for nutrition, or do you eat for entertainment?
He is certainly an extreme guy, but his messaging is pure.
If you prioritize eating to entertain yourself, rather than for nutrition, you are in trouble.
“Foodies” are complete bullshit.
Nate
Solid and simple. Sustainability is always the goal.
